Stormwater phosphate removal
Poseidon Pellets capture phosphate as runoff passes through contained media. Boom socks and media beds bring water into contact with the pellets in drainage channels and nutrient-impacted waterways.
Match the media format to the flow
Stormwater flow changes with rainfall. Assess normal and peak flows, water levels, sediment, debris, and safe access before choosing a location. Keep a clear hydraulic route and plan inspection after storm events.
Installation example: contained boom socks
The Water Warriors field gallery shows rows of boom socks in a drainage channel and contained media beneath a wooden bridge. The setup places media in the water flow while keeping the pellets contained. The photographs document installation arrangements; they do not establish a removal percentage.
Check contact time and replacement needs
Performance depends on phosphate load, water chemistry, media volume, and contact time. Site-water testing and inlet and outlet sampling help establish performance. Plan safe access to inspect, retrieve, and replace the contained media.
Keep recovered nutrients in use
After treatment, used Poseidon Pellets can be evaluated for reuse as a slow-release soil amendment or fertilizer. Source-water conditions, testing of the used media, and local requirements determine suitability.
