Pond phosphate removal
Poseidon Pellets capture phosphate from water in a contained treatment step. For ponds and natural swimming ponds, the starting point is a practical route that brings circulating water into contact with the media.
Plan around circulation and access
Review water movement, circulation flow, seasonal nutrient inputs, sediment, and safe access. A contained media arrangement should allow inspection and retrieval without scattering pellets through the pond.
Installation example: natural swimming pond
The field gallery shows a natural swimming pond, its stone entry steps, and boom socks placed across a rocky water channel beneath a wooden bridge. These photographs show the installation setting and media placement. Water appearance alone does not establish phosphate concentration or treatment performance.
Measure the water and the treatment target
Use laboratory testing to establish phosphate levels. Compare inlet and outlet samples where water passes through the treatment step. Contact time, water chemistry, phosphate loading, and media volume influence removal and replacement timing.
A second use for recovered nutrients
After treatment, used Poseidon Pellets can be evaluated for reuse as a slow-release soil amendment or fertilizer. Suitability depends on the source water, testing of the used media, and local requirements.
